Life of a Mollusk
Who Live in a Monument Under the Sea?
Mollusk can live in salt water, fresh water, AND on land.
Most salt water mollusk live in dark places, such as caves or way down in the dark depths of the ocean. Fresh water mollusk, like the sea slug, just move along on the water's bottom. Now, land mollusk, like the snail and regular slug, live in trees, soils, and plants. However, snails can be found in the water, and aren't just limited to land environments.

Another Evil Plan
Mollusk can herbivores, carnivores, as well as omnivores. It just depends on which mollusk your referring too. Cephalopods are carnivorous, and eat fish and plankton. Snails and slugs usually eat plants, but the snail can be a carnivore depending on its species. Clams and mussels are filter feeders, meaning they eat whatever the water throws at them.
Grandfather Snail
Out of all the mollusk, clams probably live the longest. After all, it does take a while to create a pearl. Their life span is possibly a hundred years, or more. However, this is not the case for most other mollusk. Sea slugs can live barely a year and regular snails only live a few years. Most cephalopods live from 1-4 years or more, but the shell-ed Nautilus can have a life span of 20 years.
That is a Snake, and Totally Not a Tentacle.
Some of the most interesting defense mechanisms mollusk have is camouflage. This only true for the octopus and cuttlefish however, but it isn't just the average chameleon camouflage. Octopi and cuttlefish have the ability to change their color and body texture to blend in with the background and be undetected by threats. Some, like the Mimic Octopus, have more interesting way of defending itself from threats.
